It's nearly that time again and the dreaded thoughts of what to wear are looming...you want to look good but be comfortable too!

Days at festivals tend to be long and in a field somewhere so heels of any kind just aren't an option ๐Ÿ˜‚

Classic Contouring

Ever since word got out about contouring we've all been going a little bit crazy over it, myself included ๐Ÿ˜‹
When I discovered the Stila Contour kit I was amazed. It's so creamy and easy to apply and it doesn't leave the caked on look that some other cream contour palettes do...it actually gives a beautiful dewy/fresh look which is perfect for everyday wear as well as going out!

After using my cream contour palette I use a setting powder and then use the Anastasia Beverly Hills powder palette...this was a stunning Christmas Present and it's still going strong (which is surprising considering I use it beart every day). It has three different shades of highlighter and three shades for contouring too! So this really is the perfect match for everyone. ☺️

Glow Time

๐Ÿ’ซHighlighter๐Ÿ’ซ

...The part of your makeup that adds a little Sparkle to everyday  ๐Ÿ˜‰
The Urban Decay Naked highlighter in 'Lit' is definitely my favourite, it is a little bit darker than other highlighters with more of a bronze tinge to it than the regular white shade. This highlighter has the perfect amount of shimmer and you can dust it on to your shoulders & collarbone to get that summery glow!

๐Ÿ’ซ TOP TIP๐Ÿ’ซ
When I am going for a dark eye or lip colour I found that this highlighter can be used as a blusher, it provides the right amount of colour on your cheeks without being over powering, and as it is that little bit deeper you can still use a brighter highlighter on your cheekbones๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

On the other hand, sometimes you want the crazy dazzling white highlighter ...

and MAC are the people to sort you out. This was my first ever highlighter and one that I always go back to, I have experimented with other brands and shades but this one really stands out. Combine with the perfect contour (which will be up on tomorrow's post) and you have perfectly chiselled cheekbones ๐Ÿ’•

My Foundation Faves

So, I am going to blog each day for the next five on my favourite pieces of makeup, so where better to start than at the very beginning....
๐Ÿ’ซFoundation๐Ÿ’ซ

I must have tried literally every foundation available and couldn't find one that was long lasting and didn't dry my skin out - or make it look oily! However, a few months ago I had booked an appointment to get my makeup done & the makeup artist used Jane Iredale's Glow Time BB Cream...I hadn't heard of it before and was little bit sceptical, but to my surprise it stayed on ALL day, at 2am it still looked perfect and I didn't want to take it off! It is now my go to foundation for nights out & special occasions as I know it won't let me down, the retail price is around £38 & so worth it, you don't even need to use a lot of it to get it to stay on so you won't need to buy it every other month either. 5 stars all round for this one.

My sister also introduced me to Makeup Forever when she bought me a bottle for my birthday, this is quite a light foundation so perfect for during the day. What I love about this is that you don't get the "Ghost Face" in photographs as it has no SPF.

๐Ÿ’ซ TOP TIP๐Ÿ’ซ

Mix a little bit of Makeup Forever with Jane Iredale Glow Time Cream on your hand before application... You'll get the benefits of both ๐Ÿ˜‰

Dig Your Heels In

Craziness in a shoe is great - you can have much more freedom, you can exaggerate and it doesn't feel stupid. But to have too much craziness near your face, that would just feel weird.’ - Miuccia Prada

For ages I didn't really care about my shoes, a pair of black shoes & a pair of nude and you're ready to go with any outfit (a theory I still believe in if you're stuck), but I have become obsessed recently...I love the bright, crazy colours & the real beauty of a statement shoe is that you can wear them with your skinny jeans and a plain top, team with a bright clutch & you're ready to go. Such little effort/maximum result ๐Ÿ˜‰
