Bourjois Haul

Bourjois Product list:
* City Radiance Foundation
* Happy Light Base Serum
* Aqua Blush
* Volume 1 Seconde Mascara
* Rouge Edition Aqua Laque
* New Effect 3D Lipgloss

So this week I was kindly asked to try out a few Bourjois products and let you lovelies know how I got on...and the result is pretty good!

For years I've been wearing quite heavy foundations as I would regularly get bad break outs and would need a good coverage to disguise them and so I've never really wanted to buy a 'light' foundation, but after trying the City Radiance from Bourjois I am slightly converted! This foundation is made with an anti-dullness formula and radiance-boosting pigments all designed to even out the complexion, and the result? ... A gorgeous dewy/fresh faced look that feels so light on your skin. This morning (when this picture was taken) I had a little breakout so I just applied a little bit more foundation to that area and it covered it perfectly ☺️
I really love this foundation for day wear because it is so light & fresh and stays on all day, it ticks all the boxes for me I think my skin really enjoyed the break!

Before applying the City Radiance Foundation I used the Happy Light Base Serum, this is a feather light primer that doesn't block your pores, instead it is designed to leave your skin soft and moisturised. This primer comes in 'Matt' and 'Luminous' and both basically do as the name suggests. 'Matt' mattifies the skin and refines pores and 'Luminous' illuminates and hydrates the skin and is perfect for anyone with normal - dry skin, I used the later of the two and it really helped to make my skin look so fresh 🙌🏻

Bourjois have a theme of refreshed and radiant looking skin throughout their product range ... Right down to their blush. I'll admit it took me a few goes before I got used to using a cream blush so here's a little tip, you only need a little pump of the Aqua Blush, do a big cheesy grin and start blending from your cheeks up in a diagonal line. This blush boosts the skins natural radiance and works well with the light foundation and illuminating primer.

When going for a fresh look on your skin I think it is so important to make your eyes stand out and add a little bit of drama to the look. I used the 'Volume 1 Seconde Mascara', with a specially designed brush that is inspired by professional hairstyling brushes to allow for clump free 360 degree volume. To get the best out of this mascara apply in  Zig Zag motion on both the top and bottom lashes.

I used the Rouge Edition Liquid Laque on my lips in shade '09' and absolutely loved it! It's non sticky  formula glides on so easily and feels so light on! Another little benefit of the Liquid Laque is that it contains Nymphaea extract to smooth and moisturise, as well as this is doeson't run so there's no need to apply Lipliner... For this look I used the New Effect 3D Lipgloss to add some shimmer (although there was really no need, I was just trying out a different look 🙊). The 3D lipgloss also contains hydrating and moisturising agents while still giving a voluminous and super shiny result 😁

All in all I am so impressed by these products, I love having such fresh feeling skin and the best part is that all these products complement each other leaving your  skin and lips hydrated and moisturised .

Lashing Out

From Nail Polish to Contour Palettes and Eyelashes, Suzanne Jackson is covering all bases in becoming a part of our daily makeup routine, and as far as I can gather she's doing extremely well!

Having tried both the nail polishes and contour palette I couldn't wait to try the eyelashes from the SOSU by Suzanne Jackson range. There is such a wide variety of styles that no matter what you look for in lashes you'll definitely find something to suit you. Personally, my go to lashes are the Whispes by Ardell, so I bought the Naomi style as they are very similar. I also chose the Carla style for a change, they are full, lengthy and have a jagged edge which I think makes them look a little more natural.

I couldn't wait to try the lashes out last night, and definitely wasn't disappointed! The Carla lashes were actually a bit longer than I thought but I absolutely loved them, they made my eyes look so much bigger and perfectly combined length and volume while still being light weight. They have an invisible seam so there's no real need to wear eyeliner, I did however as I was going out and wanted to add a little bit more definition to my makeup.

I would also point out that the lashes do not have any glue included, so if you're buying them in the hope of wearing them the same night be sure to pick up a packet of glue as well (my personal fave is the Duo glue). As Suzanne explained on snapchat yesterday the reason she didn't include glue with the lashes was because she feels that the glue included with eyelashes is always cheap and found that most people end up throwing it away and using their own anyway. She also pointed out that including glue with her lashes would have increased the price, which is a road she wasn't interested in going down. Suzanne has stated that she is working on her own brand of eyelash glue to be sold separately, and if her current products are anything to go by, I'd say she is on to another little gold mine ☺️

All in all, at £5:00 (black box eyelashes only) these lashes are a steal, I was honestly so impressed with them and can't wait to try the other styles!

EJ xx
